Do you love castles? Lee isn’t that interested in them but I LOVE them!
Even the most ruined of strongholds fill me with wonder. I love to imagine the type of people who lived there, what they would have looked like when they were at their peak and the reasons behind why they were build on that particular spot.
We live in the Bridgend area of South Wales and are really lucky to have quite a few castles practically on our doorstep, although some are now merely bits of rubble sticking out of the ground. I’m ashamed to say I didn’t even know a few of them existed until this year, but there are two in particular that we enjoy visiting regularly. Today I want to tell you about Coity Castle.
Yesterday I posted about our impromptu visit to Margam Park. Here is a close up of Margam Castle, which is actually a Gothic Tudor Mansion. I love visiting this country park, you could could quite happily spend all day here wandering the grounds!
I took this photo on Saturday, which was a rare sunny day after the horrendous weather we’ve had recently. It may look like Ff and LM are simply traipsing into the wild, because they kind of are, but actually this is in a field about a mile down the valley from our house and I actually have some really exciting news about this patch of overgrown land. Come back later in the week when I can tell you all about it properly!
I love making pizza.
Our youngest cannot tolerate dairy or soya. This makes pizza night a slightly more awkward affair than it used to be. Have you ever tried to find dairy free “cheese” that isn’t made from soya? Well they are few and far between.
I managed to find this particular pizza cheese online. It has a weird way of melding together rather melting but O thoroughly enjoyed his pizza and he still has lot’s of slices frozen for our next pizza night!
O is always eager to take the dog out for a walk, but this particular day he wasn’t waiting round for anyone, even Dewi!READ MORE »
